I’m Patti Flinn, a Gen X woman exploring my happy and finding my shine.
Like most women of the “forgotten” generation, our life perspective is slightly different. As the bridge between old school and new school, Gen X people have learned how to bend, flex and stretch to deal with life’s challenges.
Gen X bends but–God-willing–we don’t break!
Frankly, if we can bend for the world, we can bend a little for ourselves. We don’t need to be focused on making things easier for others all the time, do we? We already grew up way faster than we wanted to, can’t we do things for ourselves first, for a change?
This isn’t a site about the world, it’s just a site about my perspective as a Gen X woman. It’s all about me, me, me, me, me… [psst … generational & cultural reference there.]
Maybe you’re a Gen X-er in a similar space in life, looking forward and excited to re-define who you are according to what you want. Happy to have you.
Writing is my thing.
My work has been featured in publications–The Writer Magazine, Thrive Global, The Ascent, The Writer Cooperative, In the Land of the Forgotten, etc.–and I’m an award-winning novelist (click the fiction tab for links to re-direct to my fiction sites).
I’m available for speaking engagements, panels and podcasts about writing, self-publishing, “exploring” one’s happy, and just trying to survive as a Gen X in an every-other-generation kind of world.
